procedure with Rupali Bank Ltd. |

Bangladeshi
Citizens and foreign nationals can open FC A/C in USD, GBP &
EUR with Authorized Dealer Branches of Rupali Bank Ltd. Detail
information about the persons who are entitled to open the
accounts are given below: |
|

|
|
|
1. Private
Foreign Currency A/C: |
|
|
| |
a) |
Bangladesh Nationals residing
abroad, Foreign nationals residing abroad or in Bangladesh
and also Foreign firms registered abroad and operating in
Bangladesh or abroad, Foreign missions and their expatriate
employees can open Private FC accounts. But Foreign exchange
earned through business done or service rendered in
Bangladesh can not be put into these accounts. |

b) |
Bangladesh nationals working and
earning abroad including self employed Bangladeshi migrants
proceeding abroad on employment may open foreign
currency accounts even without initial deposits. They may
operate the accounts themselves or nominate other persons in
Bangladesh for this purpose. |

c) |
Resident Bangladesh nationals
working with the foreign / international organizations
operating in Bangladesh provided their salary is paid in
foreign currency. Such account may be credited only with the
foreign currency portion of the salary. |

2. Non Resident
Foreign Currency Deposit A/C: |
|
|
|
|
|
| |
|
|
| |
a) |
All non-resident Bangladesh
national and person of Bangladesh origin including those
have dual nationality and ordinarily residing abroad may
maintain interest bearing time deposit accounts named NFCD
a/c. |

b) |
Bangladesh nationals serving
with Embassies / High Commission in foreign countries,
persons deputed with IMF, World bank, IDB, ADB etc. and
employees of Government / Semi Government Departments,
Nationalised banks and employees of body corporate posted
abroad are also entailed to open this account. |

3. Resident
Foreign Currency Account: |
|
|
|
|
| |
|
|
|
Persons ordinarily resident in Bangladesh may open and maintain
Resident Foreign Currency Deposit (RFCD) accounts with foreign
exchange brought in at the time of their return from travel
abroad. Any amount brought in with declaration to customs
Authorities in form FMJ and upto US$5000/- brought in without
any declaration can be credited to such account. |

applicant attested by the High Commission/Embassy. |

Residence certificate /
Employer’s certificate. |
